Niagara Parks Commission

The Niagara Parks Commission has developed and maintains the parklands surrounding the Canadian side of the Falls from Fort Erie to Niagara on the Lake.

Its goal: To preserve and enhance the natural beauty of the Falls and the Niagara River corridor for the enjoyment of visitors while maintaining financial independence.

And what a great job they have done!

There are numerous free activities and facilities found within the parks system and I will point them ALL out to you.

The NPC was founded in 1885 as a self funding agency of the Ontario Government

It maintains approx. 1720 hectacres -4,250 acres- of parkland stretching the length of the Niagara River from Fort Erie to Niagara-on-the-Lake.

NPC receives no government funding. All its revenues are generated through gift shops, golf courses, restaurants, paying attractions, parking lots and rentals.

Its nice to know that a part of the money you might spend with the NPC helps maintain this wonderful parkland.
