Navy Island



Navy Island lies 7 miles upstream from the Falls.

This nature preserve is accessible by boat and has no facilities.

That why its a favorite with fishermen, nature and bird lovers.

Overnight camping is allowed with a permit from the Niagara Parks Police office, 6075 Niagara Parkway, NFO, directly opposite the American Falls.

Fees

Adults 18 years of age and over - $8.00 + GST (6% tax) per person per night.

Children 13 to 17 years - $4.00 + GST (6% tax) per person per night.

Children 12 years and under are FREE.

ANY visitor to the Island launching a boat from th USA MUST notify Canada Customs upon arrival or just prior to departure from the USA at 1888 CANPASS or 905 354-4785

Interesting Facts:

The island was considered as a possible site for the United Nations. It is situated between two peaceful borders but . . . . . . that went to New York City.

It was also considered for the 1960 World's Fair.

Permits for Overnight Camping can be obtained from the Niagara Parks Police office, 6075 Niagara Parkway, Niagara Falls, Ont; it's right across from the American Falls.
